TUMBLR CHALLENGE 2:YOUVE GOT MAIL (FAVORITE MOVIE)
i love that this movie..
revolves around books, and old school bookstores with a story lady.
and love
and friendship.
and getting over first impressions,
and friends becoming more than friends..
and lines like :
“i love daisies! Dont you think theyre the friendliest flower?”,
“Don’t you love New York in the fall? It makes me wanna buy school supplies. I would send you a bouquet of newly sharpened pencils if I knew your name and address.” or
“Sometimes I wonder about my life. I lead a small life - well, valuable, but small - and sometimes I wonder, do I do it because I like it, or because I haven’t been brave? So much of what I see reminds me of something I read in a book, when shouldn’t it be the other way around? I don’t really want an answer. I just want to send this cosmic question out into the void. So good night, dear void. “
so much reference to books and reading!!!
Ive actually watched the original movie youve got maiL was based on. The Shop Around the Corner starred James Stewart and Margaret Sullavan and was made in 1940. It was a good old movie and I tell you this, Youve Got Mail is a great updated modern version in all aspects!
